RED AND PINK FOR THE HEART!

On Friday March 5th wear red, or pink to support those who suffer from heart disease!  By wearing red or pink, you will show people that you really care for the cause! So, wear red and pink for the heart! Ms. Moreno


UNDERGROUND INFORMATION
The Underground is having a new promotion for the whole month of March.  Come down to the school store and grab your stamp cards and get one stamp for every dollar you spend!  Collect ten stamps and get one dollar off your next purchase – hurry, because there’s only a limited amount of stamp cards available!

OVERDUE TRANSITION PLANS
Phone calls will go home by the end of this week for students who have failed to hand in their Transition Plan.  To avoid having your parents receive this phone call, hand yours in ASAP to Mrs. Dato, Room 313.

GR 12s: STUDENT-LED INTERVIEWS & RETURNING COMPLETED TRANSITION PLANS
There will be a brief presentation for all students who do not have an English class, or who were absent the day I came in to your class to return Transition Plans and go over Student-Led Interview procedures. The presentation will be after Spring Break, so stay tuned for the details. Students interested in more information are also welcome to come to the presentation.

GRAD DINNER DANCE
Attention Grade 12's: the Grad Dinner Dance is fast approaching.  If you have not paid your $90 Dinner Dance fee you will not be allowed to sign up for a table to sit with your friends.  Pay your fee right away to Ms. Azzara in the office.

Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) Career Showcase
For graduating students interested in pursuing careers in the fields of justice and public safety, whether as paramedics, firefighters, police officers, social workers, counsellors, sheriffs or correctional officers, the JIBC Career Showcase provides a unique opportunity to learn more about these career choices and their pre-requisites. 

Date:   Friday, March 19, 2010      Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Location:  JIBC - New Westminster Campus   715 McBride Boulevard, New Westminster

The Showcase will feature display booths that will allow students to browse, collect information and ask questions about various career choices and programs available at the Institute, as well as attend a number of presentations by current justice and public safety professionals.

If you are currently in Grade 11 or 12 and you want to sign up to attend, please see Ms. Wispinski in Room 313.  You must apply on or before Feb 25th, 2010

Spring Break Volunteering Opportunities
Are you interested in volunteering for a few days during Spring Break.  Burnaby Minor Hockey is hosting a hockey tournament at Bill Copeland Arena.  Various jobs / tasks need volunteer assistance.  If you are interested come and get more details from Ms. Wispinski in Room 313.  Actual dates need to be confirmed: but most likely March 14, 15, and 16th.  

Volunteer With Kids Camps at Spring Break (limited opportunities)
Are you interested in volunteering as an assistant camp leader.  If so come to Room 313 ASAP.


Volunteer at Cascade Heights

Cascade Heights needs 20 volunteers to assist with the Spring Fair Carnival - Thursday May 27th.

Hours are 3 pm - 8 pm.  They would love have some ex-Cascade students to return to assist, you can still volunteer if you are not an ex-cascade student.
